Despite his intellectual disability and limited vision, Joe lived a full and meaningful life. With the assistance of Service Coordination, The ARC of the Chesapeake, and coordinator, Kevin Matthews, Joe was able to live independently. He worked at the Eastport Yacht Club for approximately 20 years, receiving commendations for being an excellent employee. Joe also worked for Providence Center and Opportunity Builders, Inc.
He enjoyed spending time with family, checking in with neighbors, and sports. In his younger years, Joe competed in the Maryland Special Olympics, winning first place in the 50-yard dash several times. He also enjoyed serving as DJ at many ARC events.
Joe is survived by many loving cousins and a multitude of friends.
There will be a time of viewing and visitation on Thursday, June 20th at Hardesty Funeral Home (12 Ridgely Avenue, Annapolis) from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 7:00 pm. Burial will be private.
