Theresa Maria Glaser, of Annapolis, Maryland, died on August 15, 2025 at the

age of 75. Tess is survived by her daughter Gabrielle Glaser Campbell;

grandson William Campbell; twin grandchildren Gretchen and Gunther

Campbell; two brothers Gerard and Walter; and her nieces Jenny Johnson

and Catharine Glaser-LeClere.

Tess was born in Washington DC to Gerard and Hedwig Glaser. For most of

her life she lived and worked in Maryland.

After graduating from Elizabeth Seton High School in Bladensburg, Maryland,

she accepted an opportunity to spend two years living in Kyoto, Japan where

she taught English and became fluent in Japanese. She took the long way

home, traveling through Europe before continuing her formal education in

New York. She earned a bachelor's degree in Nursing with a specialization in

anesthesiology and began her career as a Certified Registered Nurse

Anesthetist working in emergency and trauma care at Maryland's Prince

Georges County Hospital Center.

In 1990, she joined the U.S. Army Reserves as a 1st Lieutenant and was

promoted to Captain. She was called to active duty in support of Operation

Desert Shield/Desert Storm and earned the National Defense Service Medal.

She spent her "spare time" helping patients at the Walter Reed Army Medical

Center and other Army facilities. Her career was so integral to her that she

maintained her nursing license and continued to work until the month

preceding her death.

Tess could often be found at daybreak walking the Severn River shoreline at

the U.S. Naval Academy. A five-mile morning walk was the warm-up for her

day.

Charting the arrival of a full moon over the Chesapeake was one of her

great pleasures. An annual 10K run over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge was a

special treat. Sharing a view of the sky from Annapolis City Dock with a friend

was magical for her.

Tess died with family and friends at her side.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Hospice of

the Chesapeake, Anne Arundel County, Maryland.

We had the pleasure of meeting Tess at Rehoboth Beach. We thoroughly enjoyed her joyful spirit, her love for the beach and biking and the great camaraderie she shared with her friends. She was lovely inside and out. We miss her and send our deepest sympathies to her family and friends.
