Joseph Vincent Picone passed peacefully on December 10, 2024. Joe was born on June 3, 1934 to the late Vincent Picone and Mary Bosio Picone. He was preceded in death by his brother, Brian Paul Picone.
Joe graduated from Maury High School. After graduation he worked at Center Shops in Norfolk before enlisting in the Army. He was stationed in post war Germany. During his tour in Germany, he traveled in Europe extensively. He left the military to attend photography school in California for 2 years. After he graduated, he received a position at the Pentagon. Joe retired after 29 years at the Pentagon, moving to Suffolk, VA, where he resided for 25 years. He enjoyed yard work, traveling and reading. He became the caretaker for our mother and our brother Brian Paul.
Joe is survived by two sisters, Marguerite C. Eck of Reston, VA, and Joanne P. Kubat of Virginia Beach, VA, and one brother Robert F. Picone of Chesapeake, VA, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a member of St. Therese in Chesapeake, VA. His funeral will be on Wednesday, December 18th at 11 AM with visitation one hour prior to the service. His burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Norfolk, VA, at 2PM.
