In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his brothers, Darrell Richmond, Roger Richmond, George Richmond, David Richmond, and Billy Ray Richmond; sisters, Della Treadway, Helen Richmond, Nancy Preston, Mary Foraker, and Rose Treadway; and his "heart dog", Little Man, who was waiting to welcome him.
Joseph is survived by his son, Joseph "Boogie" Richmond (Shannon); daughters, Christie Adams (Gary Foster), and Erica Christian (David); grandchildren, Lindsey Marie Massie (Curtis), Kimberly Brooke Adams (Benny Colagrosso), and Caleb Christian; great-grandchildren, Jaxon Massie, Connor Massie, and Melody Colagrosso; a special niece, Jenell Rice; and many other nieces and nephews.
Joseph came across as gruff and grumpy, and he wasn't afraid to tell you how it is, but he was actually a very generous person, always willing to help out his children, family, and close friends. His daughter said it best, "My Daddy is the person who never let me down." Even in death, his generosity continues. The family is honoring his wishes by donating his body to the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, so that future generations may benefit.
The family is eternally grateful for the exceptional care, comfort, peace, and dignity provided by Bowers Hospice House.
