Joseph W. Rogers, age 89, passed away at Akron City Hospital on September 3, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.
PFC Joe Rogers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Goebel, was stationed with the Marines at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
Joe graduated from Garfield High School in June of 1954 at the age of 18. He was employed at the Berneath Rexall Drug Store before joining the Marine Corps in July of 1954. He received basic training at Paris Island, South Carolina.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 67 years, Eleanor; their two sons, Chris and Joe; daughter, Judy; and sister, Dolores Horschak; as well as his grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life for Joe on a date to be determined.
