Joseph F. Rolando, "Joe", age 91, of Wilmington, formerly a long-time resident of Somerville, passed away on August 14, 2025.

Joe was born on February 9, 1934, in Somerville, MA; he was the cherished son of the late Joseph and Caroline (Buffo) Rolando. Joe was raised and educated in Somerville.

Joe married "the love of his life" Ann Marie (Dalio) Rolando on November 1, 1959; they lived in Somerville for many years before moving to Wilmington in 1993. While in Somerville, Joe was a member of the Italian Dante Club, where he enjoyed socializing with his fellow members.

Joe worked as a welder at the Foundry in Somerville and Burlington, where he made metal signs and other metal fabrication items.

Joe and Ann Marie loved spending time at the Cape; they enjoyed taking trips with their family to the beach, Plymouth Rock, and the Mayflower. Joe also loved taking walks on the rocks and listening to the ocean at Cape Cod Canal.

Joe was the beloved husband of Ann Marie (Dalio) Rolando, loving brother-in-law of the late Orlando & Theresa Colleameno and Lenny & Cathy Dalio, dear uncle of Elaine Spartichino, Sandra Colleameno, David Colleameno, Michelle Moccia, Sharon Dalio and Charlene Dalio, as well as many great-nieces and nephews and two great-great nieces. Joe was very special to the Collins family, including the late Paul, Laura, Diana, Mark, Julie and Janice along with their families.

Family and friends will gather for Visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave., (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Tuesday, August 19th from 11:00 – 12:30 p.m. immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
