Joseph Simcik

Joseph Frank Simcik passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus June 23, 2025, at the age of 86. Services will be held at Beck Funeral Home, 15709 Ranch Road 620 N, Austin, TX at 10 am, July 1, 2025, with a family visitation at 9 am.
Joe was born February 7, 1939, to Joe J Simcik and Otilia Klima Simcik in Taylor Texas. After his father's passing at a young age, he spent much of his time on the family farm in Byersville, TX with his aunt and uncle Julie Simcik and Charlie Simcik. They loved him like a son, and it was always a safe haven to call home. He met his Lord and Savior in 1955 after an accidental gunshot wound nearly took his life. He went to the firefighter academy at Texas A&M and fought fires in Taylor, TX, for several years. He then went to barber school in 1964 and cut hair for 47 years at Hancock Barbershop in Austin. Joe married Cheryl Pullin in 1972, and they raised 5 children in Round Rock, TX. He loved the outdoors and was an avid gardener, hunter and fisherman all the while teaching his children to be self-sufficient. He was a pastor and associate pastor of several area churches. He touched many lives either barbering or counseling those in need.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his aunt and uncle and his beloved wife Cheryl Lynn Pullin Simcik. He is survived by his children Lisa Zipperlen (Mike) of Waco, TX, David Simcik (Michelle) of Pflugerville, TX, Joseph Simcik of Castle Rock, CO, Stephen Simcik (Julie) of Waco, TX, and Ruth Ockletree (Larry) of Belton, TX, 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Community Healthcare of Texas-Providence Hospice.
