Joseph E. Simon, age 89, a cherished resident of Marrero, Louisiana, and originally from Reserve, Louisiana, has peacefully passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love and strength.
Joseph is lovingly remembered as the steadfast husband of Mary Simon, and an adoring father to his children, Darren J. Simon and Melanie Simon Gonzales. He was the son of the late Julia M. Simon and Eustache J. Simon, and the beloved brother of the late Gladys S. Benoit, Lucille Arceneaux, Ernest Simon, Marie S. Rodrigue, Felix Simon, Lloyd Simon, Rose Marie Simon, Lucien Simon, and Beatrice Simon Mizell.
His warmth and kindness live on in the hearts of his family, including his four grandchildren: Kathryn Simon d’Aquin (Gary d’Aquin), Tyler Simon, Jessica Gonzales (Wayne Dykes), and Kayla Simon (Johnathan Rome). Joseph also leaves behind three adored great-grandsons, Bradley Aspen d’Aquin, Bentley Aston d’Aquin, and Waylon Patrick Dykes, who will carry forward his legacy of love.
He served in the armed forces, (Branch army). Joseph devoted 30 years to Tonti Development and spent his later career with Our Lady of Wisdom, where he touched many lives with his gentle spirit and unwavering work ethic.
In his final days, he was comforted by the compassionate care of Hospice Services (Serenity) and Mary Benoit to whom the family extends its heartfelt gratitude.
As we celebrate Joseph’s rich and fulfilling life, we remember him not just for the years he lived, but for the love he shared and the unforgettable memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him.
