GRAND PRAIRIE - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Joseph Larry Soileu at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Grand Prairie, La. Father Jude Halphen will celebrate the Mass. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.
The Soileau family request that masks be worn to all services.
Joseph "Larry" Soileau, 70, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022, with his wife, Paula and daughter, Miranda by his side. Larry was born on June 21, 1951, in Ville Platte, LA to Ozeme and Gladys Joubert Soileau. He grew up in Grand Prairie but left home at a young age to join the Merchant Marines and went on to spend most of his working years as a truck driver. Larry loved traveling, being around people, talking, and was always willing to help anyone in need. He had a heart of gold.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Paula Soileau; daughter, Miranda Josie Miller-Soileau; and stepson, Christopher Kurt Fontenot.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ozeme and Gladys Joubert Soileau; and three siblings.
Visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM. A rosary will be led by Deacon Ben Soileau at 9:00 AM.
