Born on February 23, 1964, in Ville Platte, Louisiana, Daniel was a steadfast presence in the lives of all who knew him. He was a man of strength, dedication, and quiet sacrifice. Known for his strong work ethic and his deep love for his family, he spent his life providing for those he loved. He took pride in being a dependable provider - not just financially, but emotionally. He loved fiercely and quietly, not always with words, but through action, whether it was fixing something around the house, showing up without being asked, or simply being there when you needed him most.
Daniel is survived by wife, Pamela Mason Soileau; children, Rayna Breanne Soileau, Laci McBride, and Jason Segura (Brittany); grandchildren, Ashton Segura, Bryleigh Segura, Carson Dupree, Callen Dupree, Caigan Dupree, and Case Dupree; siblings, Steve Soileau (Lisa), Brian Soileau, and Bridget Soileau Gilchrist; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Grace Ortego Gilchrist; and stepfather, Eugene Gilchrist.
As we remember Daniel, we hold in our hearts the many moments that made him so special. His calm demeanor and resilient spirit were a source of inspiration. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. May he rest in peace.
