Joseph Stahon, age 95, of Lawrence Park, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2025. He was born in Erie on January 3, 1930, son of the late Stephen and Apolonia Stahon.

Joe attended Holy Family grade school and graduated from Harbor Creek High School in 1948. He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving during the Korean War. Joe was employed at Hammermill Paper Co./International Paper for 45 years prior to his retirement. He was an avid fisherman and was a member of S.O.N.S. of Lake Erie. Joe loved working in his garden and traveling. He was a volunteer escort with the VAMC for 25 years and the Second Harvest Food Bank. Joe was a very active member of Holy Family R.C. Church, where he ushered for 60 years.

Joe is lovingly survived by his wife of 69 years, Martha Stahon; six children, Joe Stahon (Mary), Anne Nemeyer (Mike), Martha Leech (Rodney), Steve Stahon (Diane), Maria Perkins (Matt) and Sara Cavicchio (Chad); daughter-in-law, Nancy Stahon Ocasio; 17 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren who lovingly called him "Papa Joe", and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Philip Stahon; and three sisters, Mary Raydo, Helen Brown and Peggy Laskey.

Friends will be received at St. Casimir R.C. Church/Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, 629 Hess Avenue, on Saturday, November 22nd, from 10 am until the time of the Funeral Mass there at 11 am. Private interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to AseraCare Hospice, 12664 US-19, Unit 1A, Waterford, PA 16441 or Shriner's Hospital for Children, 1645 West 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505. Arrangements are being handled by the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. Condolences may be sent to www.dusckasfuneralhomes.com.
