Mr. Joseph Michael "Joe" Tygart, 72, passed away on November 23, 2023, at his residence in West Point. Joe was born on February 14, 1951, in North Carolina, to the late Harold Douglas and Edith Ammons Tygart. Joe served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He worked as a I.T.T. Technician for R&D Maintenance for 16 years. He loved watching movies, computers, motorcycles, and especially his cats. He held a private pilot license. He enjoyed helping others. He was of the Catholic belief.
Visitation will be Friday, December 1, 2023, from 1:00-2:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home in West Point. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 P.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James Towery officiating. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Survivors include one daughter, Jennifer Tygart Smith (Daniel) of Pensacola, Florida: one son, Marian "Snuffy" Odendahl (Semiko) of Reform, Alabama: four grandchildren, Marissa Guild of Pensacola, Florida, Brianna Wilkerson of Caledonia, Bismarck Odendahl of Houston, Texas, and Aubreanna Odendahl of Jackson: two great-grandchildren, Grayson Bethune of Pensacola, Florida and Noah Odendahl of Houston, Texas: one sister, Theresa Jolly of West Point, and two brothers, Steve Tygart (Anita) of Huntsville, Alabama and Phil Tygart (Carol) of Huntsville, Alabama.
Honorary Pallbearers will be his Co-workers at R&D Maintenance.
