Joseph Yoder Jr., age 81, of Dalton, formerly of Orrville, went to be with the Lord Friday, November 10, 2023, at his residence in Dalton, following a period of declining health.
Joseph was born on April 24, 1942, in North Canton, Ohio, to the late Joseph and Sue (Wengerd) Yoder. He married Ruby Eileen Mast on September 21, 1962, at Martin's Mennonite Church. They were married for 61 years.
He worked as a floor mechanic for Martin Interiors for 45 years, and later transported the Amish after he retired from Martin Interiors.
Joseph was a member of Living Water Community Church. He enjoyed golfing for the Schantz Organ Team, bowling for over 40 years, and playing 3rd base on a softball team in his younger years. Most of all he cherished spending time with family.
In addition to his wife, Ruby, surviving are two sons, Bruce Yoder of Dalton, and Gary Edwin Yoder of Lake Jackson, TX; five siblings, Pauline (Mose) Miller of Sugarcreek, twin brother, John Henry (Alice) Yoder of Rock Hill, SC, William "Bill" (Edith) Yoder of Alliance, Kathryn Beachy of Plain City, and Ruth (Jim) Bruderly of Lisbon; grandchild, Aymee Brooklynn Yoder of Sante Fe, TX; great grandchild, McKenzie Brooklynn Malveaux; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Atlee Beachy and Bill Drake; and niece, Cindy Miller.
Friends may call on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Living Water Community Church, 200 N. Kurzen Road, Dalton, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, at Living Water Community Church, 200 N. Kurzen Road, Dalton, with Pastor Mark Hirst and Dan Hostetler officiating. A private family burial will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.
