Josephine R. Arnwine

Josephine Rhea Arnwine of Dover, Delaware, passed away Monday, February 24th, 2025. She was 91.
She was born November 29th, 1933, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to the late Luther Moore and Mossie Cox Moore.
Mrs. Arnwine was the last of thirteen siblings. She met and married Elmer, also a hometown Knoxville boy from a very large southern family. She embarked on a decade's long life of a military wife, following him throughout his Air Force career, which brought them to Delaware in 1967. She was part of the team of employees that opened a successful business, Tower's Jewelers of Dover. Tower's Jewelers went on to become Service Merchandise and Josephine remained there until her retirement. She went above and beyond supporting her children in all their activities, including Girl and Boy Scouts, PTA Leader, and Little League. Wherever her children were, she was right there cheering them on. Her grandchildren were the brightest light in her life. Mrs. Arnwine was a long-time bowler, participating in multiple Bowling Leagues throughout her life, loved watching the Earnhardts win the NASCAR races, she was an avid Eagles and University of Tennessee fan as well.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Edison Arnwine, a son, David Wayne Arnwine and recently, her beloved twin sister, Aileen Hall.
Mrs. Arnwine is survived by children, Debbie Henault (David) of Magnolia, DE, and Vincent Arnwine of Dover, DE; her siblings, Austin Moore, Myra Ellenburg, Gail Skidmore, and Donna Arthur all of Knoxville, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Joshua David Evans, Katie Henault Lacinski, (Jerermy), Amber Marie Arnwine and Lauren Arnwine; and her great grandson, Jackson Evans; a special daughter in law, Sharon Evans and granddaughter, Heather Rittenhouse. And many beloved nieces and nephews in her home state of Tennesse especially Roger Hall (Sharon), Michael Hall (Terri), Jimmy Hall and Chris Hall.
Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Friday March 7th, 2025, at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, Delaware. Friends and family may gather one hour prior. Interment will be held at Sharon Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Delaware Hospice.
