Frank Joseph Leigh went to be present with the Lord, October 25, 2025. He was 91 years old.
Frank started his working career path as a paperboy during the Great Depression and would place his earnings on the table each payday, telling his mother to take whatever the family needed. His generosity continued toward family, friends, and strangers throughout his life. His career path included being an Air National Guardsman, a jeweler, and a draftsman until he landed on the occupation that captivated his love for people and led to his ultimate success: Insurance. Starting as a sales agent, he quickly advanced to become a sales manager, a trainer at his national headquarters who created curriculum for agents and managers, and then settling in Dover, DE, in 1976 where his team routinely won national awards. He retired at 55 to care for Taddy, his first wife of 38 years, until she died of cancer. Frank also became highly involved as a Sunday School teacher, lay speaker, and elder at Faith Community Church in his later years. Frank will be remembered for sharing his love of God through bible studies and hymn-sings at his home with his beloved wife, Judy. In his free time, Frank enjoyed painting, golfing and game nights with friends.
Frank is preceded in death by his first wife, Taddy; his brothers, Carl and David A. Leigh; and his sisters, Audrey Leigh and Rosalie McLeod.
Frank is survived by his wife of nearly 28 years, Judy D. Leigh; son, David R. (Dana) Leigh ; daughter, Joan (Ed) Connatser; brothers, John and Thomas Leigh; grandchildren, Timothy (Suzi) Leigh, Christa Leigh, Eddie (Hannah) and Nathan Connatser; and numerous nieces, nephews, and four great grandchildren, Jacob, Bennett, Isabella, and Willy.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Faith Community Church, 2240 S DuPont Hwy, Dover, DE 19901. Friends may visit an hour prior. The burial will follow the service at Sharon Hills Memorial Park.
