Josephine L. Lepore

Josephine L. Lepore (Musto) of Woburn passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. She was 82 years old. Josephine was the beloved wife of the late Americo R. Lepore. Born in the North End of Boston, she was the cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Victoria (Grillo) Musto.
Josie was a best-selling children's book illustrator and an admired art teacher at the Nazzaro Community Center in the North End. She touched the lives of many by inspiring students to believe in themselves. She left a lasting impact that will shape futures and build character. She was a teacher, mentor, and friend to many. She will be remembered for her boundless creativity, kindness, and passion for raising money and awareness to help find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis.
Josephine was the devoted mother of Leah Orr and her husband Wayne of Jensen Beach, FL. and Rico Lepore and his wife Rachel of Oviedo, FL. She was the adored grandmother of Alyssa, Camryn, Ashe, Gianna, Mirella and Vincent. Josephine was the dear sister of Lucille Jones of Pembroke, Vincent Musto and his wife Rosie of Burlington, Vicky Russo and her husband Ralph of Woburn and Marie Musto of Woburn. Josephine was the loving aunt to Vincent, Karla, Anthony and Joseph.
A visiting hour will be held in St. Leonard Church, 320 Hanover St., (North End), Boston, MA, on Tuesday, April 15, from 9-10AM, followed by a funeral Mass beginning at 10AM. Relatives and friends are invited. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
