Josephine (Dotty) Martucci entered into the presence of the Lord on Friday, January 10, 2025 in the comfort of her home in Berkeley Heights, NJ. She was 91 years old. Josephine was a beloved matriarch.
Josephine was born on June 19, 1933 in Newark, NJ. She was the daughter to the late Josephine (Flammia) and Rosario Bove.
Josephine met her husband, Arthur, when she was just 15 years old. Upon her High School graduation, Josephine was employed by Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance of Newark when waiting for her fiancé to return from the Navy. Once Arthur returned they were married and quickly started a family. She loved being a homemaker. Josephine resided in Irvington and Union before moving to Berkeley Heights 30 years ago.
Josephine was a devoted follower of Christ and lived her life with faith and family being the most important aspects of her being. Josephine lived by the saying "cleanliness is next to Godliness". Josephine was quiet, however, anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her could attest to her amazing sense of humor. She kept everyone laughing up to and including her last days on earth.
Josephine loved nature and would often enjoy mile long walks/hikes until recent years. Josephine had a strong love and appreciation of music. She was an amazing cook and while her children were growing up, they always loved waking up on Sunday mornings to the aroma of that week's pot of gravy.
Josephine was pre-deceased by her parents, her husband Arthur Martucci who died in 1993, and her siblings Madeleine "Micki" Albanese, Rocco "Sonny" Bove and Louise "Honey" Bove and son-in-law, Anthony Ricci.
Josephine is survived by her 3 daughters, Linda Ricci, Theresa Conte and her husband David, and Diane McGuire and her husband David. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great grandchildren Michael Ricci and his wife Amber and their children David and Alaria, Jessica Ricci and her husband Henry Soto, James Ricci, Christopher Ricci and his wife Kelly and their expected child, Devin McGuire and his fiancé, Christina Dedrick, Dylan McGuire, Danielle McGuire and DeAnna McGuire.
Josephine is now in peace in the arms of her Savior.
