Josephine Louise Seyfert, of
Wellington, Kansas passed away on March 10, 2025 at the age of 68.
Josephine was born the daughter of Domingo Sr. and Rosa (Delgado) Perez on November 17, 1956 in
Wellington, Kansas.
Josephine, affectionately known by friends and family as "Bo," was a beacon of warmth and love in every life she touched. Bo's zest for life was infectious, her courage inspiring, and her generosity knew no bounds. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the most cherished people in her life and she made sure they knew that. Bo was married to Maximino Zavala Sr. with whom she had 4 children. She then later was remarried to Lonnie Seyfert with whom she had 3 children.
Bo's heart was as expansive as her love for travel. She was often found exploring the beauty of the world and visiting bowling alleys near and far, an activity she thoroughly enjoyed. Her love for children was evident in her career as a food service worker at Lincoln Elementary School, where she was dearly known as Miss. Bo. Her culinary skills were also treasured at home, where she cooked for her beloved family and shared countless meals filled with laughter and love. Bo's nurturing spirit went beyond her own family as she extended her home and became a foster parent, providing a warm, loving environment for three children.
Bo is survived by her children: Melissa (Ty) Kimzey; Max (Melinda) Zavala Jr.; Marcus (Jordyn) Zavala; Malorie (Blane) Anderson; Alex (Colton) Young; Alicia (Caleb) Calvert; David (Kelsie) Seyfert; grandchildren: Brandon (Kelesey) Seyfert; John Kimzey; Bailey (Justin) Harris; Derek Kimzey; Drake (Sarah) Kimzey; Karizma Zavala; Max Zavala III; Domingo Zavala; Chloe Zavala; Brynnlie Zavala; Ayralye Zavala; Daxtyn Zavala; Christopher Anderson; Zeke Anderson; Ryatt Anderson; Wesley Young; Jackson Calvert; great grandchildren: Jennell Seyfert; Brooklynn Kimzey; Abelin Kimzey; Hadelynn Harris; Kendelyn Harris; Kassie Zavala; Rainier DeJarnett; Siblings: Albino (Nellie) Perez; Domingo (Kay) Perez, Jr.; Juanita Robinson; Patti Childress; Margie Brown; Linda (Chris) Caudillo; Carolyn (Paul) Vargas; Anita (Carlos) Galleous; Jesse (Lola) Lira; and Toni Camero. Along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Domingo Sr., and Rosa Perez; brothers, Manuel Lira; John Perez; sisters, Mary Perez; Romona Abasolo; Angie Hyatt; brother in laws, Dale Brown; Jere Robinson; nephews, Brock Jeffries and J.J. Cabera.
A viewing for Bo will take place on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Cornejo Funeral Home & Crematory, 1030 Mission Road,
Wellington, Kansas, 67152.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at St Anthony & St Rose Catholic Church, 210 North B Street,
Wellington, KS.
Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 20, 2025 at the St Anthony & St Rose Catholic Church, 210 North B Street,
Wellington, KS. Interment will follow at Sumner Memorial Gardens,
Wellington, KS.
Memorial contributions can be given in her name and memory to Lincoln Elementary, 104 South F Street,
