Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tim Stewart Funeral Home - Lawrenceville on Apr. 29, 2024.
Joshua Luke Anthony Myers, age 27 of
Grayson, GA, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. Joshua was born on February 13, 1997, in St. Andrew, Jamaica to his parents Thanks Stephen Myers and Debra Audrey Myers. Joshua was a senior in college with tenure at Georgia Gwinnett College and University of Georgia, working towards the bachelor's degree in economics. (18 credits short of graduating).
Josh enjoyed bike rides, Boy Scouts and camping with his dad and brothers. Josh was an avid sports enthusiast!
He liked many sports; football, soccer, golf, tennis, bowling and baseball, including cricket which he more recently was introduced to by his dad. However, his true passion was NBA Basketball, with Golden State Warriors being his favorite team.
He would go to the games, and wear jerseys of his favorite teams. He knew every player from every team and watched the games, playoffs, commentaries etc., whenever they played from multiple screens in his room. The décor/theme in his bedroom is everything basketball. Joshua's eyes would light up with enthusiasm and his basketball knowledge would become evident as he engaged in conversation.
Recently this year on February 2, 2024, He treated me and his brothers to the Atlanta Hawks vs Phoenix Suns game at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta with wristband passes to the VIP lounge. We had a wonderful time!! with all- you-can-eat buffets etc. WE WERE IN HIS WORLD, and he kept checking in throughout the evening to see that we were enjoying ourselves. He even said, "more of this to come mom!", with a pleased look on his face.
Joshua enjoyed planning and being an organizer. He planned several family vacations and was enthusiastic about traveling. He enjoyed being on cruises with his family and loved to surround himself with the people he cared about. Joshua was known for his passion. No matter what he had put his mind to, he placed himself into it one hundred percent. As a therapeutic refuge during the challenging days of the pandemic, Joshua wholeheartedly immersed himself in the art of landscaping within the confines of our home. With unwavering dedication, he transformed our humble lawn into a verdant oasis reminiscent of a meticulously manicured golf course. He further created a social media page to showcase his expertise and garnered a community of fellow lawn enthusiast.
Joshua is preceded in death by his father, Thanks Stephen Myers. He is survived by his mother, Debra Audrey Myers (Quallo, Keane) Georgia; brothers: Adam & Zachery Myers, Georgia; Christopher and his wife Micaela Myers, Florida ; Charles and his wife Stacey Myers, Georgia; his sister Christina Myers, Florida; and many Aunts, Uncles cousins, nieces, and nephews from Jamaica, Florida, New York, Georgia and Canada.
