Joshua Stull Batt, 26, loving son and father, passed away on December 26, 2024 in Cedar City, Utah. Josh was born on August 30, 1998 in Portland, Oregon to Noel Stull and Rachel Stull.
Josh joined the Richard and Sherri Batt family during 2002. His adoption was made final on August 17, 2009. He grew up in Cedar City, Utah. He attended Cedar High School where he played football and rugby. He also enjoyed playing the trombone in the concert and pep bands. He graduated in 2016 as a proud Redmen.
Josh was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He had a great love of the gospel and of his Savior Jesus Christ. Josh accepted a call to serve a mission for the Church in Portland, Oregon in 2017. This allowed him to revisit his roots and he loved the time spent with companions, ward members, and family.
Joshua met Jocelyn Holmes in 2018 and they were married on March 2, 2019. Together they have a beautiful baby girl, Maeve Marie, who was born on October 25, 2023. She was the light of Josh's life and he loved being her dad. Josh was a stay-at-home dad for the first 7 months of Maevy's life and he developed a beautiful bond with her.
Josh enjoyed a variety of hobbies including camping, fishing, boating, attending concerts, video games and spending time with his friends. Growing up, Josh cherished the years scouting with the young men and leaders in his ward and was a proud Eagle Scout. He valued his relationships with others and considered many as family. He loved the mountains, lakes, and hills of Southern Utah. During early adulthood, he grew a passion for metal work. He attended and graduated from Southwest Technical College in 2022, receiving a certificate in welding. He went on to work as an apprentice for a welder and spent his free time scrapping, melting and molding metal to create pieces of art. He had recently found opportunities to display and sell his art.
Josh held a variety of jobs in the customer service industry and was loved by coworkers and customers. We are comforted knowing that Josh is free from the turmoil and pain of this mortal life. Josh's free spirit and exuberant personality will be missed by many people including his family, friends, and his community.
