Joshua Clay

Joshua "Josh" Darnell Clay was born on January 3, 1989, in Pascagoula, Mississippi, to Vernita and Larry Clay, Sr. of Gautier, MS.
He was a very loving son, brother, and uncle to many. Josh was sociable person who never met a stranger. Like many of us he was faced with numerous trials and tribulations, but with the strength of our God and his family he overcame them.
At a young age, Joshua was a member of Parkview Missionary Baptist Church of Gautier, MS. He later became a member of Church On The Rock of Pascagoula, MS until his death.
Joshua departed this life on June 2, 2025. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Yvonne McCarty Hickman and Willie McCarty of Laurel, MS and paternal grandparents, Luberta and Robert Clay of Laurel, MS.
To cherish his memories, he leaves his parents, Vernita and Larry Clay, Sr. of Gautier, MS; four sisters, Laquita Shanks of Pascagoula, MS, Brittney Clay of Gautier, MS, Lawanda (Raymond) Savell of Leakesville, MS and Tasha Smith of Laurel, MS; two brothers, Larry (Toni)England of Ocean Springs, MS and James Gavin of Laurel, MS; one bonus brother, Arthur Shanks of Gautier, MS; his favorite niece, Anjeanette Clay-Walley (Alvin Wally, Sr.) of Moss Point, MS; nieces, Ashley Clay (Marzeal Porter), April Slater of Pascagoula, MS, Shuronda Wilson of Ocean Springs, MS, Quazina Clay, Jasmine Poole of Pascagoula, MS, Reagan England and Amelia England of Ocean Springs, MS; great nieces, Ania "Lil Mama" Walley of Moss Point, MS and Brooklyn Wilson of Ocean Springs, MS; nephews, Ronnie Wilson of Ocean Springs, Derrek Poole and Antonio Shanks of Pascagoula, MS; great nephews, Alvin "Big Boy" Walley, Jr. of Moss Point, MS and Kington Wilson of Ocean Springs, MS; one uncle, Willie (Linda) McCarty of Laurel, MS; one aunt, Denise Jackson of Panama City, FL and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
