With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Joshua Logan Conley. His courageous battle against cancer was a true testament to his heroic spirit. Sadly, he drew his last breath on earth at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, cradled by the warm love of his mother, who stood steadfast by his side throughout his entire journey.
Josh is survived by his beloved feline companions, Loki and Macy, who brought him endless comfort and companionship. He is also survived by his loving and supportive parents, Freddy and Lisa Conley, and his younger brother, Parker Conley, whom he patiently awaited as a child to complete their immediate family.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Norman McCoy, his uncle Bobby Conley, and his cousin Scottie Bible.
Josh's memory will be forever treasured by his grandparents, Harold and Eula Keagle and Snooks and Joyce Conley. He will be deeply missed by his aunts and uncles: Debra (Tom) Culp, Teresa (Allen) Weidner, Wade (Kelly) Hassler, Pam Bible, Josh (Nancy) Holder, Harold (Donna) Keagle, and Jeff Keagle.
Josh shared a special bond with his cousins, who were like siblings to him: Aaron Campbell (Robin Scott), Jesse (Savannah) Campbell, Travis (Emily) Weidner, Brandon (Bre) Weidner, Scottie Bible, Chris (Tara) Hassler, Niki (Ryan) Massey, Amanda Adams, Brittany Isaacs, Max Keagle and Starla Scroggins.
He also held a very sacred place in his soul for his aunt, Faye Howell. Their Panama City Beach bingo secrets and shenanigans lasted him a lifetime. Aunt Faye was his secret keeper and safe space throughout his life. He loved her beyond words.
Josh was many things to many people. His favorite title was "Cat Daddy." His classmates voted him prom king of his graduating class. He went on to capture the hearts of everyone he met in Murfreesboro when he moved away for college. Josh graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor's degree in science and media and communication.
He lived every university student's dream, unapologetically, and made countless new friends whilst there.
He would later secure a remarkable career as an administrative coordinator at Maximus, with exceptional coworkers, (Jay and Leah) who respected him and acknowledged their appreciation for his hard work and outstanding contributions to the company. His employer also made it possible for Josh to work remotely, allowing him to return back to his hometown of Crossville. He built a home there with the help of his family. He loved being a homeowner. It was his absolute dream come true to be back at home. A full circle moment for him.
Josh was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Josh often shared that his testimony began by following his parents' examples and grew as he invested effort in truly understanding the depth of his relationship with Jesus Christ.
He leaves behind a plethora of friends who loved and adored him, each holding a genuine place in his heart like family. Georgena Starr and Kaysha Sempsrott, his platonic soulmates. Alex and Annah (Sempsrott), the children he claimed as his own and loved deeper than the ocean. Granna (Anna Lunsford), his girlfriend of over a decade. Stage, his sister from another mister, and Rebecca Hook, his favorite vacation wife.
To quote his favorite celebrity;
"Baby, we a team, and you match me like a theme." -Megan Thee Stallion
Josh, known for his kind heart and infectious smile, leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love, contagious laughter, and unforgettable memories. To know him was to truly love him. His spirit will continue to shine brightly through the lives of all who knew and loved him.
Josh will be remembered for his outstanding character. He was compassionate, generous, ambitious, and comedic. He was an eternal teenager, cracking jokes and taking notes. The joy and laughter he brought to those around him were contagious. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family, his friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
