Joshua Alexander Hanley Sr., known affectionately as Josh to those who knew him best, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2024, at the age of 47. A lifelong resident of Bucks County, he was a man whose laughter and love of life left a lasting impression on all who crossed his path.
Born on May 18, 1976, in Bucks County, Josh grew up with a zest for life and an unquenchable curiosity that led him to pursue a rich and varied education. He attended Penn State and Temple University, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, and later went on to complete his Master Degree in Business at Newman University. Josh's academic journey was a testament to his belief in the power of knowledge and personal growth.
Josh's career was as diverse as his interests. He worked in construction, where his strong work ethic and leadership skills shone through. His compassionate nature found a perfect outlet in his role as a counselor for the Self Help Movement, where he guided many towards brighter futures. His passion for sports and mentorship converged in his role as a coach for wrestling and football, where he inspired young athletes to reach their full potential both on and off the field.
A man of many hobbies, Josh reveled in the simplicity of a good concert, the thrill of a well-told joke, and the tranquility of fishing. Riding dirt bikes and embracing the great outdoors were among his favorite ways to connect with nature and fuel his adventurous spirit. His love for life was infectious, and his ability to find joy in everyday moments was one of his most endearing qualities.
Josh's legacy is carried on by his loving family, including his children, Joshua A. Hanley Jr., Seth A. Hanley, Chase A. Hanley, and Isabel A. Hanley; his cherished grandson, Atticus A. Hanley; his siblings, Chad Batchelder, Jed Batchelder (Timothy), Sue Wright (Dan), Dimitirus Hanley, Arron Hanley (Alexis), and Cheyenne Hanley; and his devoted mother, Evelyn Sanderson. His memory will also be treasured by his numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he adored.
Josh was a man best described as adventurous, loving, and funny. His ability to light up a room with his humor and warmth will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was a pillar of strength for his family, a beacon of hope for those he counseled, and a source of unwavering support for his friends.
His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his spirit lives on in the stories told, the memories cherished, and the lives he touched. Josh's journey on earth may have ended, but the mark he left on the world is indelible.
As we bid farewell to Joshua Alexander Hanley Sr., we celebrate a life lived to the fullest, a heart given freely, and a legacy of love and laughter that will endure forever. He was a treasure to his family, a champion to his friends, and an inspiration to all who had the privilege to call him their own. Rest in peace, Josh. Your adventure continues.
