Josh Paul Haslem returned to his Father in Heaven on February 2, 2023 after a long battle with multiple medical problems and depression. He was born on September 6th, 1989 in Provo, Utah to his Father Keith and his mother Sydney.
Josh was the youngest of five brothers. He was surrounded by brothers who loved sports and was no different and loved sports of all kinds from an early age. He loved football the most but also played basketball and tennis through junior high. He taught himself how to golf as a teenager and was a varsity letterman in golf his Junior and Senior year, qualifying for the individual state tournament.
Josh loved scouting and received his Eagle Scout award in January of 2005 at the age of 15.
Josh was an excellent student. He took pride in his schoolwork. He was an honor roll student throughout junior high and high school. He was the Orem Junior High School student of the year his freshman year. He consistently finished very high on national tests and received multiple academic awards including the academic all state award. He continued his education at UVU and received his Bachelors degree in Biology in 2015.
Josh struggled for multiple years with medical problems that made daily life difficult physically, mentally and emotionally. Despite these issues he always did his best to have a positive attitude. This battle was unrelenting and he did his best until he couldn't do any more.
Josh was loved very much by his family. He was without a doubt the favorite uncle. Nieces and nephews flocked around him at family gatherings and all of them have a story to tell about their Uncle Josh.
Josh had a huge heart. He was always willing to help anyone in any circumstances. Despite so many obstacles in his path he was always worried about everyone else's well being above his own.
Josh is survived by his Mother and Father, Sydney and Keith Haslem; Siblings: Ryan Haslem (Shelly), Bryce Haslem (Brittany), Jake Haslem (Jami), Tyler Haslem (Jaycee)
Funeral services will be held Saturday February 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the LDS Chapel which is located at 865 W 1000 N in Orem Utah
The family would like to give special thanks to the Orem City Police Department, Search and Rescue and members of the Timpview 5th ward who offered their time, hearts, and resources and were instrumental in finding Josh and allowing us to celebrate his life and bring him to his resting place. We are so grateful that he is now at peace and look forward to seeing him again.
Josh was a very private person and in respect to him there will be no formal viewing prior to the funeral.
