Joyce Marie Chady (née Tyler), 92, of Sun City, Arizona, passed away peacefully at her home on July 9, 2024 with her family by her side.
Joyce was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Born on December 16, 1931, in the Town of Maine, Wisconsin, Joyce was the cherished daughter of the late Frank and Emma (Janke) Tyler.
She graduated from high school in Shiocton, Wisconsin, before moving to Milwaukee. Joyce worked as a Product Inspector at Globe Union in Milwaukee, where she met her future husband, Al Chady, who worked in the same department as a Machinist.
Joyce and Allen were married on May 9, 1964, at First Lutheran Church of Shiocton, Wisconsin, and later settled in Brookfield, Wisconsin. She and Al enjoyed annual family vacations, traveling across the United States with their daughters and other family members, creating cherished memories.
After her daughters were in school, Joyce worked for many years at Treasure Island department store as a lead associate, where she was known for her versatility and dedication. Not well-known for her baking, Joyce made many brownies, homemade cookies, and other treats for her daughters' school events.
Joyce was a devoted member of the Lutheran Church and rarely missed a Sunday service until in-home pastor visitations became necessary. She found joy in simple pleasures such as bowling, vegetable gardening, and playing cards. Joyce always embraced family gatherings. Friends fondly remember her great sense of humor and wonderful laugh.
In the summer of 1996, Joyce and her husband Allen retired and relocated to Sun City, Arizona, where they enjoyed their golden years together until Allen's passing.
Joyce is survived by her two daughters, Sandra (Michael) Arndt of Oconomowoc, WI, and Patricia Baas of Surprise, AZ; her grandson, Michael Arndt II; and her nephew, Keith (Mary Lee) Daniel of Little Chute, WI. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Allen, her sister Lucille (Clarence) Daniel, and her brothers Raymond and Gerald Tyler; other relatives & friends.
A memorial service celebrating Joyce’s life will be held on July 19, 2024, at 12 noon at
Menke Funeral & Cremation Center 12420 N 103rd Ave Sun City, AZ 85351
The service will be live-streamed for those who cannot attend in person.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Virginia, Daniele and Kate from hospice, and Pastor Robert Smith, for their compassionate care of Joyce during her final months.
Joyce will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her strong will, and her vibrant sense of humor. Her presence will be missed by all who knew her.
