Joyce Janette Christie Taylor, of Bloomfield, CT, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024. Joyce was born to the late Fred and Fostina Christie on January 28th,1941 in Hartford, CT.
Joyce was a loyal friend, devoted mother, an avid professional and a faithful Christian. She achieved a Master of Science degree in Human Services and worked tirelessly in the Human Services arena. She also had her own business "Akiba Associates" for many years.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her only son, Richard Taylor Jr. of Hartford, CT; brother, Anthony Ray Christie of Windsor Locks, CT; her nephew, Robert Taylor, Jr. of Hartford, CT; her daughter-in-law, Estelle Taylor, sister-in-law, Karen Christie. Grandchildren, Tremayne Rhett, Fontaine Johnson, Tara Fountain, Jamie Taylor Valle and adopted son, Cedric Gill. Joyce was blessed to have more than 20 great-grandchildren, and many more spiritual children through her son Richard who affectionately cared for her and knew her as "Grandma". Joyce is also fondly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and good neighbors.
Besides her parents Joyce was predeceased by her brother, Barney Lamont Christie.
