Joyce Marshall Clem, 83, of Harrisonburg and formerly of Grottoes passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at her home. Mrs. Clem was born July 17, 1941 in Harrisonburg and was the daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson Marshall, Jr. and Ruth Margaret (Fulk) Marshall.
She was a 1960 graduate of Montevideo High School and attended Skyline Church. She loved gardening and planting flowers and enjoyed family vacations to Duck North Carolina. She worked at Imported Car & Truck Parts, and later Costco. Joyce was a devoted wife and an amazing mother, grandmother and sister who will be missed by all those who loved her.
On February 2, 1968 she married Charles Lewis Clem, Jr. who died June 18, 1997. Mrs. Clem is survived by a daughter, Tammy Pitsenbarger and husband, Dean; brothers, Dennis E. Marshall and wife, Sheryl, Carl E. Marshall, Larry E. Marshall and wife, Candy; sisters, Connie Marshall Hillyard and husband, Jim, Sandy Marshall Martin and husband, Carl; a grandchild, Siarah Pitsenbarger; great-grandchild, Wylder Tuff Moyers; special friend, Tom Chrisman; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog "Gracie".
Pastor Carl Martin will conduct the funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 30, 2024, at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisonburg. Burial will follow in the Eastlawn Memorial Gardens near Harrisonburg.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday evening at the Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.
Memorial gifts can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
