Joyce S. Ford, age 84, of Wolverine, Michigan, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, September 7, 2025.
Joyce was born in Cass City, Michigan, on March 19, 1941, the daughter of Naaman "Shirley" and Ruth (Hawn) Hill. She had lived in Caro, Michigan for several years before making Wolverine her home in 2013. She worked for Walmart for 22 years of dedicated service.
Joyce enjoyed camping and was an avid collector of vintage dolls. Over the years, her collection grew to over 200 dolls. Joyce had been a member of the Country Doll Club, the Timbertown Dollology Club, and the Flint Doll Collector's Club.
Joyce is survived by her husband, James; her daughter, Cheryl Ford; her son, Robison Ford; her grandchildren, Ryan Ford, Shannon Denoyer, Krystal Denoyer, and Breanna (Ford) Bacon; her great-grandchildren, Mahkenzie, Hailey, Megan, Dylan, Maddy, Miley, Morgan, Lincoln, and Wesley; and her best friend of 75 years, Linda (Westfall) Zechmeister. She was preceded in death by her parents, Shirley and Ruth Hill; her brothers, David Hill and Richard Hill; her sister, Joanne McDurmon; and her son, Rick Ford.
Visitation for Mrs. Ford will be held at Nelsons Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Officiating the funeral service will be Pastor Steve Evoy. Interment will follow the funeral at Silver Lake Cemetery, East, in Wolverine, Michigan.
