Joyce Ann Gordon, born on May 26, 1934, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2025, at the age of 91 in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Joyce was a devoted daughter to her late parents, Arthur Bryant and Lottie Bryant Greene, and a loving wife to her late husband, Donald Hughe Gordon. After Donald's passing, Joyce moved to Florida in 1998 to be closer to her mother and sister. While in Florida, she found solace and purpose through her involvement with her church, participating actively in their community outings and charitable contributions.
Throughout her career, Joyce worked diligently in administration for various companies, including banks, 4H, and Fairfax County Schools. Her professional life was marked by dedication and a strong work ethic, which earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues.
In her personal life, Joyce found joy in the simple pleasures of gardening and reading. She had a natural talent for nurturing both plants and friendships, cultivating beauty and warmth wherever she went.
Two years ago, Joyce returned to Virginia and became a resident of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. There, she embraced her new community, staying busy with activities and cherishing her time with others.
Joyce is survived by her loving daughter, Donna Brady and her husband; daughter, Sonja Simko; son, Stewart Gordon and his wife; son, Chris Gordon and his wife; nine grandchildren; her sister, Jane Frinks; and many other extended family members and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A private interment will take place at a later date, where Joyce will be laid to rest near her beloved husband in Mount Comfort Cemetery. Her family and friends will forever hold her memory close in their hearts.
