Virgil Harper is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Harper and grandchildren Bryan Harper and Cheyanne Blankenship.
Virgil was born in Bethpage, TN and joined the Air Force at age 18. He fought in the Korean was awarded several medals and honors. He was one of the oldest surviving veteran of the Korean war.
While stationed in Chartres, France, Virgil met and married his wife Marie Greard in Chartres Cathedral. They had been married 64 years before Maries passing on October 27, 1965.
Virgil graduated with a BS degree in business while a commissary officer in the Air Force. He subsequently had various careers after his time in the Air Force.
Virgil loved spending time with his grandchildren Bryan and Cheyanne and loved gardening, reading, and watching western movies.
He will be greatly missed by his family.
