Joyce Blitz Manzie

Joyce Blitz Manzie, 98, of Stroud Township, died Saturday afternoon, May 13, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono. She was the widow of Louis J. Manzie who died August 25, 1997.
Born on July 20, 1924 in East Stroudsburg, she was a daughter of the late Rudolph and Edna (Sommers) Blitz and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County.
For many years Joyce helped her husband run the family business, Louis J. Manzie Building.
She was a member of the former Grace Lutheran Church in East Stroudsburg.
Joyce and her husband were avid golfers and were members of Glen Brook Country Club.
Surviving are four children, Linda Carrier of East Stroudsburg, Nancy Oyer and husband Frank of Stroudsburg, Susan Rosand and husband Robert of Bloomsburg, and Lou Manzie, Jr. and wife Dee of East Stroudsburg; six grandchildren, Julie Albers and husband Christopher, Mark Oyer and wife Marissa, Lisa Carrier, Landis Carrier and wife Nikki, Lauren Harvey and husband Jacko, and L.J. Manzie and wife Alana; nine great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Rudolph Blitz, Jr.and his wife Gertrude; and a son-in-law, Landis "Lennie" J. Carrier, Sr..
Services will be held on Saturday, May 20th at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg with viewing beginning at 10:00AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00AM. Burial will follow at Laurelwood Cemetery.
Memorial remembrances may be made to the George N. Kemp Post 346 American Legion in East Stroudsburg.
