Joyce McLean, 89, of McAlester, passed away Saturday, Aug. 23, at McAlester Regional Health Center. The family will welcome friends and family for viewing and visitation at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home on Wednesday, Aug.27 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. No other services are planned at this time.

Joyce McLean was born on Aug. 31, 1935 in Indianola to Clarence and Gertrude (Isom) Baker. She grew up there and graduated from Indianola High School. She was married to Joe Ray Hackworth, until he passed away. She later married Doug McLean and lived in McAlester from 1975 to present. Joyce was active in the family ranch business for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed playing Bunco and cards, and loved going to the Savanna Senior Citizens to play dominoes with her friends. She was also a member of the McAlester Holly Garden Club and the Elks Club. She has been a member of the High Hill Baptist Church for several years.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Ranea Hackworth;2 grandchildren, Ashley Williams and Courteney Harrell and husband DeMarco; 3 great grandchildren, Kaytlynn, Kinsley, and Rhylin; a sister, Barbara McLenden; and several nieces and nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joe Ray Hackworth; her second husband, Doug McLean; her parents; a son, Bill Hackworth; and 4 sisters.
