Joyce Ann Mize

Joyce Ann Mize, 80, of Jonesboro, departed this life on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born April 7, 1945, to the late Roy and Louise Throgmorton in Leachville, Arkansas. Joyce was a devoted member of Friendly Hope Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, bowling, and going anywhere at any time, as long as she was in the car when it rolled away. Most of all, she loved to shop and spend time with those she loved.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Dewayne Mize; two brothers, James and Edward Thomas; and two sisters, Dortha and Alice Throgmorton.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Pamula Kristina Mize of Jonesboro; one sister, Polly Earnhart of Jonesboro; one niece, Michelle Earnhart; as well as several other nieces, nephews, and a lifetime of friends who will cherish her memory.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Friendly Hope Baptist Church. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the church, officiated by Brother Matthew Loafman. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery in Jonesboro.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, an organization Joyce deeply admired for the work they do for children and families.
