Joyce Bowman Ross, widow of Lonnie Ross and daughter of the late William Dreyfus Bowman and Carla Davis was born on September 10, 1931 and departed this life at her home in Beattyville, Kentucky on October 14, 2025 at the age 94 years, 1 month, and 4 days. She was a retired school teacher, member of the DAR, as well as a member of the Grace Baptist Church. Mrs. Ross is survived by one son, Harold David Taulbee and wife Terrie; brothers, Ordie Hollon, Greg Bowman, and Mike Bowman; sisters, Nina Lanham, Freida Prater, and Terri Kalich; stepchildren, Hargis, David, and Sharon Ross; honorary sons, Arthur Shackleford and Ernest "Davie" Kincaid; special caregivers, Sharon Manns and Betty Turner; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold J. Taulbee; her step-parents, Hager Hollon and Eula Bowman; and a step daughter, Karen Baker. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Grace Baptist Church of Beattyville. Hargis, David, and Jason Ross, Gary York, Tom Deaton, and Sharon Manns will be serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Steven Lanham and JB Bowman.
