Joyce Ann Watkins Sielschott, 81, of Chandlerville, passed away at 1:07 p.m., Thursday, August 22,
2024, at her home. She was born February 7, 1943, the daughter of Lloyd and Vivian Gilbert
Watkins in Alton, IL. She graduated from Chandlerville High School in 1960. She married Kenneth
on October 29, 1961, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Kilbourne.
Mrs. Sielschott's dedication to her chosen profession, nursing, was truly inspiring. She also worked
many years at Mason County FS Kilbourne plant, where she retired in 1998. Joyce found joy in
various hobbies, including her time as a member of a clown band, trail riding, and playing the piano
and guitar. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, canning, and finding new recipes for her collection of
cookbooks. Joyce was a lifetime member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in rural Kilbourne.
She is survived by three daughters: Kristine (Theo, Jr) Hodgson of Chandlerville, Robin (Jason)
Johnson of Kilbourne, and Kelly Bailey of Chandlerville. Eleven grandchildren: Erin (Mo) Hodgson,
Wylie (Madeline) Hodgson, Devin (Derek) White, Jason Lee (Dena) Johnson II, Kenneth (Danielle)
Johnson, Breton Bailey, Bryce (Kaitlyn) Bailey, Braun Bailey, Eden Holliday, Mitchell and Silas
Brown, and eleven great-grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by three brothers: L. A. (Pam)
Watkins, Richie (Connie) Watkins, and Dale (Penny) Watkins. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Kenny, of 48 years, her parents, her daughter, Jamie Sielschott, a son-in-law, Jon Bailey,
her brother, Wylie Watkins, and one great-grandson, Karson Lee Johnson.
Following the family's wishes, a private graveside service conducted by L.A. Watkins will be held at
the Chandlerville Cemetery.
