Joyce Helen Thompson, 72, went to be with our Lord Thursday, February 2, 2023.
Funeral service is 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd with burial at Boyd Cemetery. Family will receive friends Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Jeff Tackett will officiate. Pallbearers are Alan Fullbright, Doyle Adams, Leon Adams, Johnny Adams, John Smith and Frankie Adams.
Joyce was born November 24, 1950 in Hope Mills, North Carolina. She was united in marriage to the love of her life Johnny Thompson on November 25, 1966 in Fayatteville, North Carolina. She was a homemaker, loved spending time with her family and friends and especially her 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents that raised her in a loving home, Ernest and Naomi Guin, and brother; Robert Lee Vittoria.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 56 years, J.T. Thompson of Boyd, son, Robert Lee Thompson and wife Jackie of Boyd, daughter, Cissy Adams and husband Billy of Randlett, Oklahoma; She also leaves 3 grandchildren, Amanda Fullbright and husband Alan of Flower Mound, Elizabeth Aaron and husband Garrett of Wichita Falls, Josh Cates of Wichita Falls and 5 great- grandchildren, Avery, Archer, Adi, Aspyn and Amelia; She is also survived by her brother, Mike Holmes of North Carolina and sister, Nancy Matthews of North Carolina; numerous cousins, and a host of friends. Last, but not least, her beloved dog, Cuddles.
