Joycie Mae Mouton
July 24, 1943 - July 13, 2025
Joycie was welcomed with open arms into this world on July 24th, 1943, by her mother, the late Margie Stevens and her father, the late Caffery Stevens. She was called home Sunday July 13, 2025, at 7:38am at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Joycie graduated from Paul Breaux High School and continued her education at Southern University. She drove school buses in Germany for German School System. When She returned to the State, she drove for Lafayette Parish School System for 20 years. Joycie drove cross country (OTR) for National Freight INC. for 20 years along side her husband. She was also a substitute teacher at Carencro Middle School. She loved having fun and being with family and friends. She loved hosting Mardi Gras balls and enjoyed having Pokeno games. One of her passions were decorating her home for Christmas time and putting her Christmas tree up with many lights.
She leaves to mourn (2) daughters Cutria(Carnealius) Francis, Vonda Breaux both of Lafayette, LA, (1) sister Mary Louise Batiste from Houston, Tx. (5) Stepchildren Kenneth Mouton, Thomas (Penny) Mouton, Paul (Tina) Mouton, Janice (Gerald) Lewis. (1) niece Twyla John (Phillip) from Houston, Tx. (4) God Children Jessica Carmouche, Alvin Helaire, Beatrice Martin, and nephew Byron Stevens (Shiryl) from Dallas, Tx. (6) Grandchildren, Debra (Charles)Savoy, Cuttrel (Dominique) Guidry, Joycie (Korryon) Carter, Cleophas McGlorie Jr., Terrance Gotch, Kevin Broussard Jr. (18) great grand Children (5) great great grandchildren.
Joycie was proceeded in death by parents, Margie and Caffrey Stevens, her grandparents, Paul and Louise Anderson, her husband, Paul Mouton. Her son, Kirt Breaux. Her grandson, Raymond Guidry Jr., her great granddaughter, Bryla Bell and her godchild Stephanie Fiagro Cormier. Her niece Sondi Hunt.
