Juanita Ann Linnig Frank: A Loving Matriarch (1928-2023)
Juanita Ann Linnig Frank, née Snyder, born April 28, 1928, passed away on May 2, 2023, due to complications from a fall. Her passing came just four days after her 95th birthday. Juanita, a quiet and gentle soul with a quick wit, will be fondly remembered for her strong family ties, her passion for roller skating and ballroom dancing.
Juanita married her first husband, Leonard (Len) Linnig, in 1955. Together, they had three sons: Michael, David, and John. Sadly, David passed away in 2021. Juanita and Len, along with Len's brother Bill and his wife Dorothy, ran the popular Mike Linnig's restaurant until Len's death in 1999. Juanita's focus always remained on her family.
In 2003, Juanita found love again and married lifelong friend, Robert (Bob) Frank, a retired career Army helicopter pilot. Bob passed away in 2016, but their love story continues to inspire those who knew them.
An avid competitive roller skater, Juanita skated well into her 60s, displaying a youthful spirit and determination. After hanging up her roller skates, she continued to share her love for dance by teaching ballroom dancing. Her grace, poise, and enthusiasm inspired many students over the years.
Juanita cherished the time she spent with her surviving sons' wives, Linda and Barbara, who came to regard her as a second mother. She loved keeping in contact with Bob's adult children, Dana, Bobbie, and Steven. Her love for her family extended to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life. She also shared a close bond with her beloved German Shepherd, "Baby."
Aside from her devotion to her family and dancing, Juanita enjoyed watching David Muir's newscasts, often remarking on his charm and good looks. Her appreciation for his work added a touch of light-heartedness to her daily routine.
Juanita will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her warmth, kindness, and enduring love for her family will live on in the hearts of those who survive her. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the remarkable life of a woman who touched so many lives with her grace and love.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Juanita's memory. By honoring her gentile spirit in this way, we can continue to spread the love and kindness that she embodied throughout her life.
A celebration of Juanita's life will be held on Monday, May 8th, from 4 to 8 PM, at Owen Funeral Home on Dixie Highway. On Tuesday, a short service will begin at noon at Owen, followed by a procession to Louisville Memorial Gardens. Friends and family are invited to gather and share their memories of Juanita's remarkable life.
