Juanita Rosalie Meade was born to Faye and Eldora Meade Jan 4, 1940 in Durango Colorado.
Nita (as she preferred to be called) attended Stratton High School, where she was active in the school newspaper, the Eagle Scream, and the Stratton High School Annual. Nita was also a member of the High School Pep Club and the Drama Club.
After graduation, Nita got her beautician license and worked in Limon for several years.
Nita married Darrell Morrow from Burlington on August 4, 1958. Nita and Darrell had one son; Darren Todd was born on August 4, 1966, and passed away on July 12, 2017.
Nita worked in the cafeteria at Burlington Elementary School and was loved by the staff and students alike.
Nita and Darrell’s passion was to go to the Black Powder Rendezvous and Pow Wow’s. They had their own Tee Pee and loved dressing in the 1800s fur trader period clothing. The couple spent most of their summers attending this event for several years.
Nita was a loving daughter, wife, mother, aunt, and friend. She will be remembered for her infectious laugh, delightful humor, and twinkling eyes. But most of all, she will be remembered for the love she readily shared with her family and friends.
Nita is predeceased by her husband, son, her parents and her siblings:
Benjamin Lee Meade and spouse Glenna Hope Meade
Russell Fay Meade and spouse Ella May Meade
Leona Elizabeth Rich and spouse David Walter Rich
Margaret Jeanette Thomason and spouse Gerald La Vern Thomason
Roberta Irene Poorman and spouse Robert Edwin Poorman

Nita is survived by three generations of nieces and nephews who loved her dearly and will miss her immensely.
The family would like to thank Donna Witzel and the Grace Manor Nursing Home staff, who gave their time, energy, and love to take such good care of Nita. It is greatly appreciated.
