Juanita passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family and beloved pets on October 11th at the age of 99. Juanita Perret was a native of Edgard, LA. She was married to Alvin M. Perret for 59 years and they had four children: Alvin (Mike), Susan, Geri (Mike), and Abigail. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Margaret Budde (John). Juanita had seven grandchildren: Cindy (Steve) and Jonathan (Aimee') Perret, Elizabeth Hall (Chad), Rebecca Rosado (Philip), Erica Kellum (Tim), Ashley Moock (Nicholas), and Jeffrey Selig (Ashley). She also had 20 great-grandchildren, with one more great-grandchild and one great-great-grandchild on the way.
Juanita graduated from Ursuline Academy in New Orleans and Auburn University. For 51 years, she served as Postmaster in Edgard and Vacherie, LA.
Juanita was preceded in death by her loving husband, Alvin M. Perret, and her daughters Susan Selig and Abigail Perret. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Julius and Agnes Fernandez of Edgard; her sister, Florence; and her brothers, Julius, Ralph, and Earl Fernandez.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Julie Suski Madere and Linda Chatelain for the care they provided Juanita over the years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation and Funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2349 Highway 18, Edgard, LA on Saturday, October 19, 2024. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m. Interment in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Edgard, LA.
