Juanita Mae Simpson (Mammaw) was born on July 11, 1943 and went home on November 14, 2025. She was a graceful 82 years old. She had a deep rooted faith and love of Christ and was a member of Faith Assembly of God Church for 35 years. She was a proud Arsenal Tech Titan (Arsenal Technical High School) and graduated on June 14, 1960.

She married her wonderful husband of 51 glorious years on November 22, 1973.

Juanita is preceded in death by her parents Virgil and Edith Nelson, sisters Betty Nelson and Barbara Drennon, brothers Virgil Nelson, Charles Nelson, and Tom Nelson. Her son Edward (Ed) Vaughn, granddaughter Misty Vaughn and great-granddaughter Kayla Price.

She is survived by her devoted husband Wayne Simpson, sisters Roxie Ash, Elizabeth Westlake (spouse Preston) and Sue Leverenz. Her grandchildren David Vaughn (Spouse Amanda), Michelle Stalcup, Donald Fraley, Nicholle Blake, Jessica Fraley and Stephanie Schutt. And her pride and joy great grandchildren Austin, Ariana,Garrett, AmyLynn, Josh, Stephanie, Nickolas, Jayda, Sydney, Kai, Jaxen and Scarlett.

Juanita loved all things birds and angels and collected everything she could of both. She enjoyed going to craft shows and covered bridge festivals. She was a very active member at Faith Assembly, participating in the womens and childrens ministries. At home you could find her with her bible open and the Hallmark channel on the TV.

Juanita had a way of making sure you knew you were loved and cherished, even if she just met you. She made sure her door was always open and made sure everyone knew they were welcome. She provided a safe space, free of judgement, for so many with love, kindness, and comfort. She enjoyed hosting and entertaining. If you didn't have a place to go for the holidays...yes you did! Everyone was welcome to come to Mammaws and there was always plenty of food, love and laughter. She was not a vain woman, but you would never find her without her nails and hair done.

Juanita touched so many lives. She will be loved, cherished and forever missed.

Services will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Faith Assembly of God, 186 Royal Road, Beech Grove 46107, from 2pm to 5pm with a dinner immediately following.
