Lorraine Cavaness
102, of Mooresville, passed away on November 16, 2025 at Miller's Merry Manor in Mooresville. Lorraine was born on April 9, 1923 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Daniel H. Boardman and Beatrice (Morgan) Boardman.

Lorraine grew up on Indy's east side and graduated from Arsenal Tech High School. She worked as a secretary for Indianapolis Power and Light for 35 years, before retiring in 1978. She was a member of Christ Indianapolis United Methodist Church. She enjoyed solving crossword and jigsaw puzzles with her great grandchildren, eating out at Chick Fil A, MCL and Gray Brothers Cafeteria, as well as Snickers candy bars and drinking fountain Cokes. She will be remembered for her classy, well-dressed appearance, her feisty, yet caring nature, and the love for her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Henry Cavaness; son Daniel Charles Cavaness and a brother Leroy Boardman.

She is survived by her daughters Sharon Lampi (Robert), Beth Conant; grandchildren James Viewegh (Stacey McDaniel), Jeffrey Viewegh (Shirley), Joe Viewegh (Danielle); great grandchildren Hailey, Zoey, Shane, Mason, Garrett, Alli, Maggie, Peyton, Nicole and Nathaniel, who will all miss her dearly.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Lorraine's life on Friday, November 21th from 12-2pm at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, with services beginning at 2pm Friday in the funeral home. Entombment will be private at Floral Park Cemetery.
