Juanita W. Swinnie was born December 11, 1944 in Cary, Mississippi to the union of Willie Wiggins, Sr. and Annie Ree Wiggins both of whom preceded her in death.
Juanita accepted Christ at an early age and confessed her love and devotion for Christ and was baptized at St. Paul Church in Redwood, Mississippi. She later joined Pleasant Gift Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member of the deaconess mothers' widows, leader of pastor aid board and was a faithful member until her health failed.
Juanita's parents moved around a lot, which resulted in her changing schools. She attended Ketchmeyer School, King Elementary and Westside Elementary. She graduated from Summer Hill High School in May 1964.
She was united in holy matrimony to the late Lee Eary Swinnie, Sr. on April 6, 1963. To this union 3 children were born.
Juanita worked at Presto, Gregory's Manufacturing, Graduate Supply and also was a care giver for years for Ms. Travillon.
She spent her free time enjoying her family, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and cooking.
Juanita answered the call of Lord on Sunday, June 25, 2023 in the comfort of her own home.
She was proceded in death by her sons, Lee Eary Swinnie, Jr, Keith R. Swinnie, brothers, Willie Miller, Charlie Richardson, Willie Wiggins, Jr. and sisters: Hazel Lee Reed, Marie Wiggins, and Sadie May Edwards.
Juanita leaves to cherish her memories, a loving daughter, Sheila (Andrea) Sterling of Brunswick, GA,; one grandson whom she adopted as her own son, Ay'Quan'ya Swinnie(Lakisha); ten grandchildren: Lee III., Thaddeus(Whitnee), Chiquinta, LaQuisha Tranita Meshay, Fallon, Keith Jr., Laketa, Jada, Jamie and Mercedes; 15 great grandchildren; four sisters: Doristeen Gable (Paul) of Bellwood, Il, Edna Hunter of Detroit, MI, Elizabeth Smith(Fred) of Detroit, MI, Vera Lee Halley of Milwaukee, WI, a special granddaughter: Brandi Acker-Welch, two special nieces one she always called on: Cina Gable-McCray and the other one kept her laughing: Annie Wiggins, one god-daughter: Savanah Fleming and a host of sister- in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
