Juaquina Gonzales Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Juaquina H. Gonzales, who left this world peacefully on September 17, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on August 16, 1943, in Donna, TX, Juaquina was a loving wife and devoted mother, whose heart was devoted to her family.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Pedro Gonzales, Sr.; two sons, Pedro Gonzales, Jr. (Leticia R.), Patrick Gonzales (Amy M.); one brother, Antonio Hernandez, Jr.; four sisters, Guadalupe Escalon, Antonia Sosa, Francisca Alvarez & Juanita Campos. Also surviving are five grandchildren, MaryJane Gonzales, Pedro "Trae" Gonzales, Placido "Plae" Gonzales, Diego Gonzales, Donovan Gonzales; two great grandchildren, Aiden Alejandro Espinoza & Addison Jane Espinoza all of whom will carry her memory forward with love.

Mrs. Gonzales is preceded in death by her parents, Antonio & Telesfora Hernandez; one brother, Manuel Hernandez & one sister, Maria H. Yanez.

Juaquina touched the lives of many through her unwavering kindness and compassion. She created a nurturing and loving environment for her family, imparting values of love, respect, and perseverance. Her laughter and warm spirit will be profoundly missed but forever remembered.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Juaquina's life with a series of services that reflect her deep faith and unwavering spirit. A public viewing will take place on Monday, September 22, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of the Heavens with a 7:00 PM Rosary. A 10:00 AM Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church, where all are invited to come together in remembrance and honor of Juaquina's remarkable life. Intermnet will follow at Highland Memorial Park.

Her family invites all who knew and loved Juaquina to join them during this time of mourning and reflection, as they celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who gave so much to her family, and friends. May her soul rest in peace, forever surrounded by the love she so generously shared in her lifetime.
