Mrs. Judith Lee “Judy” Blackmon, 76, of Elberton, wife of 50 years to the late Larry Marlen Blackmon, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Heardmont Nursing Home.
Judy was born in Elberton on April 10, 1949, the third of four children born to Oscar Lee Busby and Fedora Eugenia Jones Busby. She was a 1967 graduate of Elberton High School and furthered her education at Brenau University and Massey Business School. Judy worked as the manger of Qualitech Training Center in Elberton and later worked at the Elberton Country Club.
She enjoyed reading, and loved sweet tea and coke, as long as there was extra ice. Judy followed Larry everywhere he went, but was particularly fond of their trips to the mountains and beach. She was a member of Elberton Christian Church.
Surviving are her children and their spouses: Chad and Candy Blackmon of Elberton and Brook and Todd Jarvis of Alpharetta; grandchildren: Josey Lee Blackmon, Lincoln Marlen Blackmon, and London Rayne Blackmon, all of Elberton; great-grandchild, August Jolee Blackmon; sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Tony Roberts of Elberton; siblings-in-law: Linda Busby, Lynn Blackmon, and Calvin Blackmon, all of Elberton; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Along with her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings: Jack Busby and Brenda Hatcher.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 18, from 1:00-1:45p.m. at Berry Funeral Home. Memorial services, officiated by the Rev. Tim Adams, will follow at 2:00p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
Flowers are accepted, and contributions may be made in her memory to Friends Helping Friends Club, Inc.,1027 Micliff Drive, Elberton, GA 30635.
