Judith Lorraine Ziesk Calhoun

Judith Lorraine Ziesk Calhoun, of Hondo, Texas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on December 11, 2025, at the age of 83.

Judith was born on July 12, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, to Julius Ziesk and Lorraine Frenzel Ziesk. A woman of Catholic faith, she lived her life guided by love, devotion, and quiet strength.

She married David William Calhoun on March 16, 1963, and for the 63 years they shared together, they built a life rooted in their devoted love for one another. Their partnership was marked by a shared passion for travel and adventure, which took them around the world many times and filled their lives with unforgettable memories.

Judith is survived by her beloved husband, David W. Calhoun of Hondo; her daughters, Elicia Calhoun Molloy (William) of Paradise Valley, Arizona and Nadine Bales (Larry) of Lytle, Texas; her cherished grandchildren, Clayton, Carson, Collin, and Campbele Aldridge; her sister, Geraldine Buckholz of Bend, Oregon; her granddogs, Champ, Deuce, Gen-E, Punch, and Makaila; and her cats, Geronimo and Cinco.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her two sisters, Josephine Johnson and Jackie Ziesk.

Cremation has taken place. Inurnment will occur at a later date in the family burial plot in Pennsylvania.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church, 2102 Avenue J, Hondo, Texas 78861. A Celebration of Life Reception will follow. For information, the church may be reached at 830-741-2236.
