Judith L. Church, 82 of Midland, passed away on November 12, 2024. She was born to the late Edison and Vivian Lucille (Shell) Shepherd on September 9, 1942 in Bay City, MI. She married the love of her life Marvin A. Church on August 29, 1964 and they shared fifty-five loving years together until he preceded her in death on April 8, 2020.
Judy graduated from Midland High School in 1960. From there she attended Ferris State University graduating in 1962. Judy and Marv married on Aug. 29, 1964 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Midland. She began her career at Dow Corning in 1967 and retired in 2000 after 33 years of service.
Judy was a wonderful wife and mother. She was active in her sons' sports including serving as Secretary of Southtown Little League. Judy enjoyed flower gardening, vacationing in Northern Michigan and was a devoted dog lover. Judy was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her children; Jon Church of Rochester Hills, Brian Church of Traverse City; sister, Connie (Jack) Cron; brother, Gary Shepherd; sister in-law, Jill Shepherd; sister in-law, Nina Worth; nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Judy is preceded in death by her husband; Marvin Church; brother, Jim Shepherd.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00am on November 22, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Jeffery Gramza officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00am until time of service at the church. A graveside service will take place at Midland City Cemetery immediately following the services at the church. A luncheon will be served at the church after the services.
In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Trinity Lutheran Church in her honor.
