Judith R. Cook, 82, of Washington, died Monday, February 24, 2025, in Hawthorne Woods, Washington. She was born December 14, 1942, in Washington, daughter of the late John Ridge and Merle Davidson Ridge Darroch. Mrs. Cook was a 1960 graduate of Bethlehem-Center High School and received her bachelor's degree of nursing from Waynesburg University. She had worked for over 40 years at the Washington Hospital. Judith was a member of a book club and supported the Doctors Without Borders Charity. She loved to read and travel. On August 1, 1964, she married Stanley Blaine Cook, who died December 31, 2003. Surviving are: a son, Christopher Cook of Washington; a daughter, Sarah Westfall (Robert) of Summerville, SC; six grandchildren, Anja, Caleb and Joshua Cook, Cassandra Siksa (Christopher), and Jessica and Gregory Westfall; a brother, John T Ridge (Judy) of Canonsburg; a sister-in-law, Georgie Goff-Ridge; and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Thomas A Ridge, is deceased. Committal services for Judith and her husband will take place 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 25, 2025, in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Her husband Stanley will be accorded full military honors by the Air Force and VFW Post #191 honor guards. Arrangements have been entrusted to McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342 In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Washington Health System School of Nursing, 155 Wilson Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
