Judith Ann (Pachell) Corapi, age 84, of Millcreek, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at home surrounded by her family. She was born October 11, 1939, in Youngstown, Ohio to the late Dominic Joseph Pachell and Julia Etta (Allen) Pachell.
Judy was a 1957 graduate of Lawrence Park High School and had attended Gannon College to obtain a communications license. Judy volunteered as an on-air personality at WETG radio, the Gannon radio station. She also volunteered as an on-air personality at WQLN television for their fund-raising campaigns. From 1979 through 1988, she worked at WEYZ "The Music of Your Life" radio station as an announcer/on air personality under the name of Judy Allen. She also worked at the Gannon University TV station as a traffic coordinator. Since graduating high school and in addition to her work as an announcer/ on-air personality, Judy worked as a telephone operator retiring in 2013 from Saint Vincent Hospital. Judy over the years had also worked as a telephone operator for Hamot Hospital, Millcreek Community Hospital, Sears, and GTE.
She was a former member of Blessed Sacrament Church, and enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, painting, and spending time with her family and friends.
Judy was proceeded in death by her husband, Joseph S. Corapi, Sr.; two brothers Patrick and James Pachell, brother-in-law Charles Hanson, and a grandson.
Survivors include her children: Jacquelyn (Rob) Corapi-Roddy, Joseph Corapi, Jr., Mark S. (Tina) Dunar, stepson John Corapi and Linda Dunar. She is also survived by her siblings: Katherine Curry, Alice Hanson, Susan (Mark) Lytle and Joan (David) Karotka.
Judy touched and influenced the lives of 10 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Judy was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be remembered for always having a smile to share and good things to say about everyone she knew. She was a fabulous cook and baker. Judy's pasta with meatballs and homemade desserts always made every event special. Her selfless nature and generosity made the world a brighter place. She will be missed by all.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at Interim Hospice, especially nurse Jaime who took such great care of our Mother during her battle with pancreatic cancer.
Services were private and burial was in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street assisted with arrangements.
