Judith S. "Judy" Guyton

North Augusta, SC – Funeral Services for Mrs. Judith S. "Judy" Guyton, 78, who entered into rest March 26, 2025, will be conducted Saturday morning, March 29th, at 11 o'clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel with Pastor Steve Cartin officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service from 10 until 11 o'clock.
Judy was born June 8, 1946, to the late Clifford Charles Sims, Sr. and Mary Frances Dolin Sims. She was raised in Charleston, WV, later making Barnwell, SC her home. Judy graduated from Barnwell High School and Aiken Technical College. She made North Augusta, SC her home for the past 20 years and was a member of First Baptist Church of North Augusta. Judy retired as an accounting voucher auditor from the Savannah River Site with 36 years of service. She loved animals, watching Fox News, playing cards and piecing together puzzles. Judy appreciated music and enjoyed traveling. She had an extensive collection of unique "treasures" she collected from all of her travels. She maintained lifelong friendships and found it of great importance to stay connected with her friends and family. Judy's greatest joy in life was her family. She loved her son unconditionally and adored her grandchildren, who affectionately called her "Mimi." Judy was proud to support them in every way and to celebrate each of their life's accomplishments. Above all, Judy loved the Lord and was strong in her faith.
Surviving family members left to cherish her memory include her husband of seven years, Alva Woodward; her son, Allen Baxley (Kim); two grandchildren, Parker Baxley (Morgan Parker) and AnnElise Baxley; her brother, Cliff Sims (Anita); and her sister, Susan Whittle (Gardner).
Pallbearers will be Bave Cunningham, Mark Whittle, Casey Sims, Ben Phibbs, Mark Baxley, and Glenn Gentry Jr.
